Bhopal, Sep 13: Preparations are going in full swing for the second Asian All Star competition-2008 at T T Nagar stadium on Thursday, Sep 18. About 150 star athletes from 20 countries, including China, Japan, Indonesia, Qatar, Korea, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Kyrgistan, Syria, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, will participate in it, according to Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tukojirao Pawar.
Dope control and physiotherapy centres, besides tight security arrangements will be in place, he said.
Ten events in the men's section include 100 m, 400 m, 800 m and 5000 m races, 400 m hurdles, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw.
In women's section, there will be a total of eight events that include 100 m, 400m, 800m and 1500 m races, 100 m hurdles, high jump, long jump and discus throw.
In all events, first, second and third prizes would be given with a cash component of US dollars 3000, 2000 and 1000 respectively.
