Srinagar, Sep 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 50 officials who were found absent from their duties in Srinagar and Bandipora, official sources said today.
They said District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar conducted a surprise check of six government offices in the city yesterday following reports that officials were not doing their duty properly.
During the checking 32 officials were found absent from duty, they said, adding, they were placed under suspension besides initiating disciplinary action against them.
Sources said a checking squad inspected various offices at Bandiora in north Kashmir and found 18 officials absent from duty.
They were placed under suspension.
They said the authorities have impressed upon all the government employees to adhere to punctuality in discharging their duties for the services of people.
