SBM Manager arrested in bribery case
Bangalore, Sept 12 (UNI) State Bank of Mysore, Koersikoppa Branch, Haveri District, was arrested by CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch sleuths while accepting bribe for sanctioning agriculture loan yesterday.
Raghavendra Karkal had demanded a bribe of Rs 4000 from one of the clients (name not disclosed) of the bank for sanctioning and disbursing agriculture loan of Rs two lakhs.
On receiving the complaint trap was laid and Raghavendra Karkal was caught red handed by a team of officers in the presence of independent witnesses while accepting the bribe. Searches were carried out at the office and residential premises of the accused and documents related to the sanction and disbursal of agricultural loan to the complainant were seized, according to a release from CBI, ACB here today.
The arrested was being produced before the Principle Sessions Judge and Special Judge for CBI cases, Dharwad.
