Mild Tremors experienced in Bangalore
Bangalore, Sep 12: Mild tremors were experienced by the residents of Kengeri, HSR Layout and JP Nagar areas of Bangalore City at 8.50 am on Friday, Sep 12. Panicked residents hurried out of their houses. No casualities have been reported.
"We heard a loud noise and experienced a mild tremor. We didnot realise what the noise was. We hurried out of the house and enquired about the noise and tremor to the neighbours had the same experience, says Vishal, a resident of JP Nagar.
"The doors and windows started fluttering for 5 and we panicked. There was a crack in one of the walls too. Maybe it was an earthquake for 5 seconds. Almost 200 houses nearby have experienced the same," says, Chandrashekar, resident of Kengeri.
Puttanna, official of the MeT department says, "A mild tremor of 1.0 to 1.3 measure of magnitude might have been occured. The department will confirm about the same."
"Karnataka is in the safe belt and high tremors may be rare", he added.
