Jamshedpur, Sep 12 (UNI) England's Sheffield United Football Club Academy manager Ron Reid said Indian footballers have the capability to compete and come at par with international soccer players.
Reid, who is here to conduct training sessions at Tata Football Academy, said, there was no reason why Indian footballers, If nurtured at the right age, can not compete and come at par with international football players.
''The ABC of football that is agility, balance and co-ordination, is the key to become a successful footballer. It is extremely essential to nurture potential footballers at the young age of 10 so that their talent can be groomed and developed to become professional at par with international standards,'' he opined.
The British coach also conducted a football clinic at the TFA yesterday which included sharing techniques and strategies that make a successful player.
His visit is a step towards the TFA-Sheffield tie up which is expected in near future to enhance knowledge sharing techniques that will contribute to the development of TFA.
