Hospital closed down to protest monetary demand
Imphal, Sep 12 (UNI) The Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, Imphal was closed down today in protest against the monetary demand made by suspected militants from the hospital staff.
The doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital staged a sit-in front of the hospital denouncing the monetary demand by the militants from medical staff.
The staff members said they had no means to cough up the huge money demands made by the ultras.
They put up festoons and placards in which they wrote, '' Make medical a free zone''.
Due to the stir the normal activities of the hospital were stopped. All the OPDs were closed but those already admitted to the hospital were taken care of.
