Eggs not deliberately hurled on Jain sadhwis, two held
Guna, Sep 12 (UNI) Two people have been arrested on the charge of hurling eggs on a group of Jain Sadhwis at Binaganj in this district on September 12, police said today.
Superintendent of Police Niranjan V Vayangankar said Monu (19) and Keshav (20) revealed during interrogation that they were going from Ruthiyayi in Guna to Manoharthani in Rajasthan on motorcycle when one egg suddenly flung to Jain sadhwis while transferring a polythene bag containing eggs from one hand to another.
The duo fled after the incident due to fear but their bike collided with a hand-cart little ahead. However, they managed to escape.
The SP claimed that the accused did not hurl eggs deliberately.
He, however, did not disclose from where they were arrested.
Police sources said both were arrested from Ruthiyayi.
Irate members of the Jain community had resorted to blockade for seven hours at the Agra-Mumbai national highway at Binaganj in this district on September 6.
