Bangalore, Sep 12 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party is fully geared up for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to the six states whenever it is held, party spokesperson Mukthar Abbas Naqvi said today.
Speaking to reporters after emerging from the opening day's session of the three-day BJP National Executive meeting here tonight, he said, "Whether it is November or December, we are fully prepared to face the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections." He said the Executive today began state wise discussions on preparing the list of probable candidates and planning the party strategy for the elections. It would complete the discussion tomorrow.
On expanding the base of the NDA he said, the alliance already had a set of allies who were totally united. Those parties which had been with the NDA before was also in large numbers.
''Some of our old allies are expected to return to the NDA fold.
We are in talks with them and you will see some of our former key alliance partners back in the NDA,'' he claimed.
He said the party would launch its 'Vijay Sankalp Yatra' from the city tomorrow and extend it to 150 other locations throughout the country in the coming days.
"We will trigger the end of the UPA government and showcase the strength of the NDA. This is our prime focus at present," he said.
He said in today's meet the National Executive discussed various issues like national and economic security, corruption that had gone out of bounds under the UPA rule and the betrayal of the people by the Union government in signing the nuclear deal without giving the actual facts.
