Jammu, Sep 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference today demanded the constitution of a high-level judicial commission headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge to probe regional discrimination in the state.
''Voices of discrimination and discontent are emerging in all three regions of the state, which is a matter of grave concern,'' provincial president, NC, Ajay Sadhotra said at a press conference here.
Mr Sadhotra said the party was committed to the equitable development of the state and believes in integrity.
''Governor N N Vohra should appoint a high-level judicial commission, headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge, to understand the ground situation and suggest immediate remedials and corrective measures ensuring immediate removal of disparity, wherever it exists,'' the NC leader said.
Meanwhile, commenting upon the elections in the state, Mr Sadohtra said it was Election Commission and the state government, who have to decide about holding elections in the state.
