'Natures wisdom surpasses that of doctor'
Kolkata, Sep 11: It is essential to understand what our body is saying and how to respond accordingly as natures wisdom surpasses that of any doctor, said Dr Nandita Shah, a health expert.
Speaking at a workshop here today on ''peas vs pills'' organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO),a division of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry,Dr Shah pointed out that the fourth largest cause of death is medication and prescription.
''We are what we eat, that's what our scriptures tell us,'' she said, adding, ''yet we ape the west by eating fast and junk foods which causes several disease.'' Quoting a recent survey she said, ''Indians are the highest in the risk bracket of diabetes and heart disease as we often rely on unnatural diets available in the market.'' She also suggested that we should take charge of helping ourselves instead of relying on doctors and medicines as the old saying suggests, ''an apple a day, keeps the doctor away'' inspiring many to make changes in their lifestyle for a positive difference.
She maintained that fruits and green vegetables are ingredients offered by nature to live holistically and in harmony.
The workshop was about healing oneself through the understanding of human anatomy, physiology and natures laws.
