Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Southwest monsoon has been vigorous in parts of Andhra Pradesh as yesterday's well-marked low pressure area now lay over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Under its influence, rainfall occurred at a few places over Telangana with isolated showers over Rayalaseema, according to the Indian Meteorology Department.
IMD officials predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 48 hours.
Heavy rainfall was likely to occur over Rayalaseema during the same period.
Moderate to rather heavy rainfall or thundershowers were likely at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema.
Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam District recored a heavy rainfall of ten cm followed by Ranasthalam, 9cm, Chodavaram, Jangaon, Koderu and Vizianagaram 8 cm each, Ichapuram 7 cm, Visakhapatnam AP, Bhongir, Cheepurupalli and Chintapalli 6 cm each, Visakhapatnam, Bheemunipatnam and Salur 5 cm each, Kalingapatnam, Medak, Nandigama, Bobbili, Gajapathinagaram, Elamanchili, Narsipatnam, Madhira, Palakonda, Patapatnam, Sompeta and Sriramsagar 4 cm each.
