BMC ready for Ganapati immersion on Sunday: Pathak
Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made elaborate arrangements for immersion of Ganesh idols on September 14, on the occasion of ''Anant Chaturthi''.
Addressing mediapersons here today, BMC commissioner Dr Jairaj Pathak said the ''Ganapati visarjan'' (immersion) would take place at 82 places across the city.
The Corporation has arranged 65 motor-boats, five hundred life guards, six thousand volunteers, 65 first aid stations, 65 ambulances and fifteen mobile toilets.
Dr Pathak said till September nine, 1,34,207 Ganesh idols have been immersed, which is 12,000 more than last year's figure.
For the immersion of small idols, the corporation has made arrangement for 25 artificial lakes across the city, he added.
