Hove, England, Sep 10 (UNI) The Indian women's team were spared the embarrasment of a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of hosts England after final match of the series was abandoned due to rain.
The match was reduced to 32-overs-a-side after being delayed by three and a half hours yesterday.
Batting first, the Indians managed to put up seven runs without losing a wicket before the heavens opened up again and play had to be stopped after just four overs.
The visitors had lost the earlier four matches of the five-match series and England were widely expected to complete a 5-0 series whitewash.
England seamer Katherine Brunt was named player of the series.
She claimed six wickets with an economy rate of fewer than two runs per over.
