Pay revision:Central University teachers urge PM to intervene
New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) Condemning the UGC decision to give one month extension to the G K Chadha Commission on revision of pay of university and college teachers, a federation of their associations today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene in the matter.
The decision exposes the UGC's non-seriousness on the whole issue of attracting and retaining talent in higher education, the Federation of Central Universities Teachers' Associations(FEDCUTA) said in a statement here.
The delay in the submission of the Chadha Commission Report was leading to frustration in the teaching community, it said.
The federation urged the Prime Minister to immediately intervene in the whole issue of pay revision.
It announced that it would organise a march in the Capital to protest the delay, and would later come out wih a detailed action programme.
