Nobel laureate inspires Mizo Organic Ltd
Aizawl, Sep 10 (UNI) Drawing inspiration from Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's profound wisdom about man's opportunities and prospects based on existence and functioning of the institutions, the Mizo Organic Limited (MOL) is all set to present the same to farmers and entrepreneurs in Mizoram.
''The focus is to meet the trade-related needs and requirements of the state, apart from providing a platform where professionals from different sectors, disciplines and countries can congregate to identify, assess, discuss and propose alternative solutions for the current and emerging opportunities,'' MOL Director L Tochhawng said today.
She added the initiative was a follow-up to the state government's endeavours to initiate partnership with entrepreneurs for seeking development in sectors like globalisation, free trade, energy, technology, information and communication.
Furthermore, the MOL is setting up a state-of-the-art processing facility at Sairang near here to act as a promotional and service institution.
This includes the plans not only to provide a leading and proactive platform for strengthening interactive trade within the country, but also for addressing emerging opportunities in foreign countries for exposures.
The processing unit based at Sairang will be officially inaugurated on September 11, for which the state governor has consented to grace as the chief guest. A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Zoramthanga was held yesterday to review progress, in this regard.
