New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) Setting the ball rolling for a nationwide golfing extravaganza, the 7th edition of the McDowell Signature Club Golf Championship, India's biggest and most prestigious amateur golf tournament was launched here today.
The three-month long tournament will kick off on September 13.
Into its seventh year, the event has touched more than 20,000 golfers across 36 leading golf clubs in 24 cities in India since its start in September 2001.
This year, the tournament will include over 32 leading golf clubs across 20 cities in India and neighbouring country Nepal.
The finals will be held at Bali in December.
The winners of the Signature Club Golf tournament will be pitched against the National Indian Amateur golf team in early 2009. Prior to this match, the winners will go through a seven day golf clinic with Brandon de Souza, former 17-time India international and Tournament Director for Signature Club Golf Championship.
