Jammu, Sep 10: In a bid to pay tributes to martyr Kuldeep Dogra, who sacrificed his life during the agitation over Amarnath land row, the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) is all set to install his statute in winter capital, sources said.
''As the Jammu Municipal Corporation has decided to install the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, Jaiprakash Narayan and Chanakya, the plans have almost been finalised to have the statue of Kuldeep Dogra in the walled city,'' sources told the sources.
However, the Sangharsh Samiti conceived the idea of installing the statue of the martyr, the Jammu Municipal Corporation has also agreed to allot suitable location within the city or on peripheries, sources added.
''The venue to install the statue of Kuldeep Dogra is yet to be finalized while each stature will cost around Rs 12 lakh,'' sources asserted.
Kuldeep Dogra allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the site of chain hunger strike staged over Amarnath land row on July 23.
