Ludhiana, Sep 10 (UNI) Suspecting foul play behind the death of Star Voice of India winner Ishmeet Singh, the late singer's family has demanded CBI inquiry into the case.
Citing the nature of the head injuries found on Ishmeet's body, his father Gurpinder Singh and uncle Charan Kamal Singh, who held a press confrence here today, said "We have personally checked the swimming pool where his body was found. The swimming pool is so well maintained with good quality tiles and proper maintenance that the severity and the extent of the injuries found on Ishmeet's body cannot be produced in a person walking into deeper water in that swimming pool." His father alleged that Ishmeet was feared to have been hit leading to the injuries and slipped into the pool. "There is no other logical way he could have received injuries," he said.
Ishmeet's father and uncle returned from Maldives on September 6 after meeting the Indian High Commission in Maldives, the police investigation team, officials and workers of Chaaya Island Dhonveli Resort and the main organiser of the Maldives show that was to be held on August 1 for which Ishmeet was invited to perform.
Questioning the role of key witnesses Vyom and Arunima, who were part of the troupe, they said "There is total lack of authentication of the entire happenings as there is none other than Vyom and Arunima who saw the happenings at the swimming pool." They also questioned the role of Sanjit Shah of Star Plus, who was the key organiser of the show from India and Mr Hassan Ishaan of Next Group, the key organiser from Maldives.
