Engineer Squadron raised at Amritsar Military Station

Jalandhar, Sep 10 (UNI) An Engineer Squadron was raised at New Amritsar Military Station, Khasa yesterday under the aegis of Flaming Arrow Brigade.

To celebrate the raising of the squadron, Lt Gen Noble Thamburaj, General Officer Commanding in-Chief, Southern Command and Colonel Commandant of 'The Bombay Sappers' alongwith Lt Gen VS Tonk, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps were present on the occasion.

To mark the occasion, a ceremonial mounted parade was presented by newly raised Engineer Squadron in the honour of the Colonel Commandant of 'The Bombay Sappers'.

Lt Gen Noble Thamburaj, has been instrumental in raising the squadron from within the existing resources of 'The Bombay Sappers'.

The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief hoisted the Engineer Flag during the parade and commended the troops for the high standard of morale and professionalism displayed by them.

The parade was also attended by Ms Anita Thamburaj, President AWWA Southern Command, Maj Gen PS Paul, General Officer Commanding, Panther Division, Commandant BEG and Centre Kirkee and a large number of veterans of 'The Bombay Sappers'.
