Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today said that a massive rally will be organised at Aurangabad on September 17 and 18, to highlight the issues of drought, power shortage, inflation and law and order.

Talking to reporters here, he said 50,000 people will participate in the morcha. Incidentally, the state cabinet meeting is going to be held at Aurangabad on the same day.

He said public distribution system in the state has completely collapsed and keeping an eye on elections, more sugar has been brought.

He alleged that union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar hardly did anything for sugarcane growers and gave only a minor rise in the prices of sugarcane by Rs 15. He said a rise to Rs 1,500 was recommended, but at present it stands at Rs 811. He alleged that sugar industry is in danger due to such policies.

Meanwhile, he denied any trouble in the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance and said that both the parties would follow more or less the same strategy for the upcoming elections.

Mr Munde said in 2004 lok sabha elections, BJP contested from 26 seats, Shiv Sena from 22, and together both won 25 seats. This time he hoped that they will together win 33 seats and expected a a multi-cornered contest which would benefit the alliance.

''If Shiv Sena wants, their seats could be increased'', he added.
