London, Sept 9 : With there being so many crime victims who cannot speak English, a new innovative way has been found to help cops deal with them - flash cards.
The method of using the thousands of individual pictures is said to save a lot of time and money in calling for interpreters.
As revealed by the Sussex force, who have 10,000 Eastern European immigrants on their patch, it is the easiest and fastest way.
The cards are carried by officers like WPC Emma Cruise on their belts, and each of them have more than a dozen flash cards, which include Guess Who? game style descriptions of suspects' appearances.
"I believe they will prove useful," the Sun quoted Sgt Danny West as saying on September 8.
But it seems not all like the cards, as could be seen from one officer's comment.
"They look more like something you'd find in a toy shop," he stated.
