Tension exists after Adityanath's attack protest in UP
Gonda, Sep 9 (UNI) Tension gripped this Uttar Pradesh district after Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists forced shopkeepers to close their shops, while agitating against the recent attack upon BJP MP Yogi Adityanath.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Prashant Kumar said the VHP and Bajrang Dal workers overturned a vegetable stall and ransacked property at a shop in Nawabganj locality.
Wherein, the issue snowballed and two groups of people pelted stones at each other, the SP informed.
The situation was brought under control after the interference of police.
Meanwhile, an uneasy calm prevailed in the area, the cop added.
Police in strength have been garrisoned on the spot and cross case regsitered.
On September 7, Mr Adityanath's cavalcade was attacked in Azamgarh district. One youth had died in the violence.
