Kanpur, Sep 9 (UNI) Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev would initiate a massive agitation over pollution in river Ganga from here on September 18.
The swami would be on a day's visit to this industrial city and from here, he would launch the nationwide agitation, along with other 568 districts, Ganga Rakasha Manch chief co-ordinator Jaideep Arya said.
A memorandum addressing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would also be handed over to district magistrates across the country, he added.
Dr Arya said their main demands were to announce the river Ganga a national property and to check river pollution and other related problems.
Besides, he also demanded action against those who were responsible for polluting the river.
