RPI demands CID enquiry into gang rape of minor
Pune, Sep 9 (UNI) Republican Party of India (RPI) today demanded a CID inquiry and threatened to launched an agitation if action is not taken against city cops, who were allegedly involved in gang rape of a minor in 2005.
Addressing a press conference, city RPI Chief Parashuram Wadekar asked police to register a case against 14 policemen in the incident.
The victim, who was present during the press conference, alleged that police were not co-operating with her and those involved in the crime were moving around freely.
However, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajendra Sonawane yesterday directed women's assistance cell of crime branch to investigate into charges of gang rape levelled by the minor girl.
