The relief material, which included rice, pulses, salt, milk powder, tea, sugar, candle and match boxes, was today flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Deepti Umashankar from the local Patwarkhana.

The Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of Revenue department, appointed in Gurgaon, have donated their 15 days' salary while the Patwaris have donated their three days' salary as help to the flood victims.

The Deputy Commissioner said the voluntary initiative of the Association to mitigate the suffering of flood victims had set an example for others organisations to come forward and help those in distress.

The Deputy Commissioner said the District Red Cross Society had made all arrangements of sending the relief material to the Indian Red Cross Society Delhi, from where it would be transported to the affected people of Bihar.
