Leopard caught near Somnath
Somnath, Sep 9 (UNI) A four-year old leopard, who was on the prowl in this famous pilgrimage centre, scaring away visitors, was caught early today by forest officials.
According to forest officials, the leopard yesterday had strayed into a farm at Chand Khatal area, 1.5 kms from here.
The villagers informed the forest department, which sent a team to catch the animal. Forest officials had set up a trap last evening and subsequently caught the animal early today.
Later, forest officials took the animal for a medical check-up.
