Mumbai, Sep 9 (UNI) The last prosecution witness in the separate 1993 serial blasts trial against extradited gangster Abu Salem, his associates and Dubai-deported accused Mustafa Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, today confirmed their involvement in the blasts before the designated TADA court.
During the cross examination by defence advocates, witness Raman Tiyagi, the superintendent of the CBI Special Task Force, said Salem and his associates- Riyaz Siddiki and Abdul Qaum Ansari- were arrested and interrogated by a team, headed by him.
Denying the allegation that Salem's signature was taken on a blank papers and then registered, Mr Tiyagi said during the interrogation, Salem had confessed to the crime and expressed desire to give a confessional statement, following which it was procured.
Following the cross examination of the last witness, the prosecution today filed a Pursy, stating the trial against the accused was closed from the its side, but in response to that, the defence moved an application praying to recall a witness.
After hearing the same, the court adjouned the hearing till tomorrow.
