Infosys helps SCI improve HR operations

Bangalore, Sep 9: Service Corporation International (SCI), North America's largest provider of funeral, cemetery and cremation services, has partnered with Infosys Technologies to improve its HR operations.

Infosys has successfully implemented a single instance of PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 9.0 and deployed it across more than 1,500 funeral homes and 400 cemeteries in 43 states, Puerto Rico and eight Canadian provinces, Infosys, said in a release here. The IT major collaborated with SCI to adopt best practices to ensure operational consistency using enhanced automation. SCI had grown to more than 20,000 employees with USD 2.29 billion in revenue.

A client since 2002, SCI selected Infosys as its implementation partner. It had grown many folds after its acquisition of Alderwoods Group. It decided to outsource the HR processes and payroll processing by doing away with redundant systems.

Infosys energy, utilities and services Vice-President Prasad Thrikutam said the company had completed deployment within 12 months.

This helped SCI achieve optimised automation immediately, he said.
