New Delhi Sep 9 ( UNI) Cautioning the UPA government against attempts being made by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal to spread communal hatred in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the CPI(M) today demanded the stringent action against the saffron outfits out to 'undermine naitonal security'.
"There are reports of attempts being made to spread violence in states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Therefore I urge you to kindly take the severest action against the bajrang Dal and the VHP by applying the necessary procedures to check their terrorist activties," CPI(M) Politbureau member Brinda Karat said in a letter to Home Minsiter Shivraj Patil.
Referring to the Tenkasi bomb blast in Tamil Nadu and bomb blasts in Maharashtra, the letter said the incidents should not be seen in isolation. "Unfortunately my demand for a CBI inquiry which I raised in the Rajya Sabha was not conceded," Ms Karat added.
"Further, recent incidents in Orissa have highlighted the use of violence by these two organisations against the Christian community including use of weapons, inflammatory material to burn homes, prayer houses and churches among others," the CPI(M) leader said.
She said recently in Kanpur two Bajrang Dal activists were killed while making bombs and similar incidents had taken place in Orissa.
"And as revealed by the Anti-Terroist Squad in Maharashtra it is a carefully prepared plan by these organizations to create communal disturbances in the country," the letter added.
