Guna, MP, Sep 9 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today said selection of party candidates for upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls is expected by the end of this month.
''Selection procedure had to be completed by September 15 but now it would be over by this month end. The party would make effort that fresh and young candidates get more opportunities,'' Mr Singh told reporters here today.
In the wake of four SP legislators resigning from the primary membership of their party, Mr Singh did not deny possibilities of their joining the Congress nor did he rule out electoral alliance with the SP in the state.
Taking a dig at the BJP Government, he said there were several issues against them and it would be raised during the next assembly polls.
Replying to another question, he said a ban would be imposed on the Bajrang Dal if the Congress came to power in both the Centre as well as the state.
He said he and his wife would not contest polls from his home town Raghogarh assembly segment.
