Case against 15 lawyers for ransacking police station
Chennai, Sep 9 (UNI) The Madras High Court Campus police today registered a case against 15 lawyers for their alleged involvement in ransacking the Campus police station here yesterday.
The case was registered against the lawyers, including Madras High Court Association Secretary Mohana Krishnan and its members Rajanikant, Lingam and Kamaraj, under section 147, 148, 506(2) and several other sections.
The lawyers were demanding withdrawal of a case ''foisted'' against an advocate. The case was filed against him after a complaint filed by a police constable from Salem that the advocate assaulted him in front of the court hall three months back.
The advocates assembled at the police station allegedly with deadly weapons and prevented the officials from doing their duty.
