BJP govt in K'taka showers sops to people on completing 100 days
Bangalore, Sep 9 (UNI) The first ever BJP government in the South today announced a number of pro people programmes and assured equal impetus to development of rural urban areas on completing 100 days in power.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa making a promises galore, said the government would today launch 'OBIDE' programme that chalks out a detailed programme to bring uniform development both in rural and urban areas.
"We stand for overall development of the state fully know that seat of power does not last for ever. BJP's only mantra is ushering development and it had no other agenda," he said.
Speaking in his home district of Shimoga, he ordered district level officials to hold meetings once every month in villages to solve local problems 'on the spot' and implement government's welfare programme effectively.
In Mysore rural development minister Shobha Karandlaje launched new projects including upgradation of primary health centres, ambulance services, helpline for public distribution system, setting up of raitha bazaars.
Mysore would be developed as the world's most sought after tourist destination, she said.
In Udupi Home Minister V S Acharya said the government would ensure that visible changes were made in the state by speedy implementation of developmental works.
Public private participation and private investment in various sectors including fisheries, ports and road developments activities would be persued, he added.
