BJP for complaint against minister with election commission
Panaji, Sep 9 (UNI) A complaint should be filed with the election commission to resolve the controversy involving education minister Atanasio Monserrate, who is alleged to have submitted an affidavit with false educational qualification before the election commission, Goa BJP opposition leader Manohar Parrikar said today.
When asked for his comments on the issue at a press conference here, Mr Parrikar said he had nothing to comment on the issue raised by social activist Aires Rodrigues, except suggesting that the best way to deal with the case was to lodge a complaint with the election commission itself.
It might be recalled that Mr Rodrigues, spokesman of the NGO Utt Goenkara, had given time till september 9 to the minister to explain his stand on the issue before the activists decide the future course of action.
Mr Rodrigues is said to be staunch supporter of BJP, while Mr Parrikar is a bossom friend of Mr Monserrate.
The NGO contended that the minister had not passed even class eight, but claimed having passed the SSC examination, before the June 2 elections, to the state legislative assembly last year.
