Ten Pak junior tennis players train at CLTA

Chandigarh, Sep 8 (UNI) An 11-member junior Pakistan team, including manager, will train at the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) Stadium in Sector 10 here from September 9 to 29.

They reached here via Wagah border today.

CLTA chairman Rajan Kashyap said "as Chandigarh provides the best tennis facilities in the region, tennis trainees from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries prefer to train at the CLTA Stadium".

CLTA provides the best tennis infrastructure and coaching facilities, he added.

The Pakistani youngsters will be taught drills and exercises on advanced stroke technique, bo-mechanics, footwork, tactics and match play situations.. There will be drills on five game situations.

They will also play matches with the CLTA and interact with the Chandigarh Rural Tennis Academy (CHART) trainees.

For fitness programme, stress will be on drills and exercises on speed, agility, speed endurance and reaction. A fitness programme has been specifically designed for the Pakistani players.

Evaluation will be done during the training programme and a final assessment will be given to all trainees on completion of the programme. Fitness assessments will be done at the start of the programme on September 9.
