SP decries BSP for sheltering Adityanath
Lucknow, Sep 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh prime opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) today charged the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government with providing shelter to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath.
In a statement, SP state unit acting president Shivpal Singh Yadav said the yesterday's violence in the Azamgarh district was the handiwork of communal forces and was an outcome of laxity conducted by the state government.
The BSP government was in a way encouraging anti-national activities by openly supporting Mr Adityanath, who was against the minorties, the SP leader alleged.
Chief Minister Mayawati has misused her power, while being in stint and given way to communal activities in the state, Mr Yadav charged.
He further appealed to the people to foil such moves of the communalists and anti-social elements by raing their voice against any wrong. Besides, he urged the people to remain united by strengthening the feeling of brotherhood.
Tension broke out at Azamgarh town yesterday following brickbatting by an irked mob on the vehicles of BJP MP Yogi Adityanath in Takia locality.
