Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Southwest monsoon was Vigorous over North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts in (cm): Karwar 12, Chikodi 9, Raibagh, Tavaregere, Afzalpur, Indi 7 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Ankola, Bhalki 6 each, Kota, Chittapur, Shahapur, Agumbe 5 each; Hukkeri, Yedwad, Kuknoor, Kerur, Jamakhandi, Bijapur, B.Bagewadi 4 each; Udupi, Sirsi, Badami, Rabkavi, Kakkeri, Yadgir, Sindhanur, Manvi, Kushtagi, Madikeri, Siruguppa, Challakere, Molkalmuru 3 each; Gerusoppa, Honavar, Banavasi, Kumta, Mundagod, Belthangadi, Almatti, Gulbarga, Shorapur, Jalihal, Bailhongal, Mudhol, Muddebihal, Basavakalyan, Srinivasapura, Doddaballapura, B.Durga, Gubbi, Madhugiri 2 each.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.
