New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) Sania Mirza's career touched a new low as she dropped 21 places to be placed at 91 in the latest Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings released today.
Sania, who failed to make a mark at the Beijing Olympics with a first round exit, was at the 70th place last week and her current ranking is an evidence of the constant slump in her form.
The Indian has ailing a wrist injury for a long time and recently she pulled out of the US Open.
Meanwhile, US open champion Serena Williams regained the pole position in WTA rankings replacing Ana Ivanovic of Serbia who dropped to third spot.
US open finalist Jelena Jankovic of Serbia was still at the second position.
