London, Sep 8 (UNI) Owais Shah is still very keen to lay his hands on the BCCI-floated Indian Premier League (IPL) and said he is yet to think about the big 20 million dollar Stanford match.

''It would be brilliant (to play in the IPL). We are about to play a World Cup, so why not play some Twenty20? It makes sense,'' Shah said.

''All it could do is boost England's chances of winning. It's not something I've discussed with Middlesex but I'm sure they'd understand if I wanted to play IPL,'' he added.

Shah, who was part of Middlesex team which won the Twenty20 domestic competition in England earlier this summer, recalled that he had considered his England career to be over when he was twice dropped from the England team.

''Early last year I thought I'd never play for England again.

It had nothing to do with my form; I was just out of favour. But then the personnel changed and I got another chance. I guess the timing has been pretty good all round,'' he added.

Now considered to be one of the mainstay batters in the England set up, Shah says he still hasn't thought too much about the Stanford match, where players will walk away with 1 million dollar each if England beat the Stanford Superstars in a Twenty20 contest on November 1.

However, the right-handed batsman hasn't made any plans to spend that money. ''I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. We've got to win it first. I've learnt not to get ahead of myself,'' Shah said.
