Neyveli Lignite to invest additional Rs 6,030 cr in Rajasthan
Bikaner, Sep 8 (UNI) The Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd (NLC) will make additional investment of Rs 6,030 crore in its Lignite mining and thermal power generation projects in Bikaner district in Rajasthan by middle of the 12th five year plan.
While additional Rs 4,500 crore will be invested in its thermal power plant expansion programme, Rs 1,530 crore will be invested towards the development of its Lignite mines at different locations in the district, a NLC Spokesman told UNI here today.
The corporation which had been working with target to commission first two 125 MW units of its thermal power plant at Barsingsar by March 2009, would also put one more 250 MW unit at Barsingsar and two 250MW units at Bithnok and Riri during its proposed expansion programme by middle of 12th five year plan, the spokesman said.
Besides this, the corporation did also plan to start Lignite mines of total capacity of 10.5 MT per annum at different locations--Palana, Hadla, Bithnok and Riri--during the above stipulated period, the spokesman added.
The corporation present project involved investment of Rs 1,850 crore.
