New police chief for Kashmir, 13 other IPS officers transfered

Srinagar, Sep 8 (UNI) Dr B Srinivas will be the new police chief in the Kashmir valley where about 50 people were killed and hundreds injured during the two-month-long agitation.

An official spokesman said Dr Srinivas, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Operations Baramulla has been transferred and posted as IGP Kashmir, replacing S M Sahai who has been posted as IGP, Crime, Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr S P Vaid, IPS, IGP Crime J &K has been transferred and posted as IGP Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dilbagh Singh, IPS, IGP CID has been transferred and posted as IGP Traffic against Mr Mohammad Amin Shah, IPS, IGP Traffic who has been posted as IGP, FSL and Telecommunication.

Mr L T Mohanti, IPS, IGP Home Guards and Civil Defence has been transferred and posted as IGP Human Rights, Mr Ravinder Kotwal, IPS, IGP FSL and Telecommunication has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, Mr Farooq Ahmad, IPS, Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation has been transferred and posted as IGP CID, Mr Niyaz Mehmood, IPS, DIG Railways, has been transferred and posted as DIG South Kashmir Range,Anantnag, Mr Abdul Subhan Lone, IPS, DIG CKR Srinagar has been transferred and posted as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir and Mr K K Saini, IPS, Director, Civil Liaison, Home Department has been transferred and posted as DIG Rajour and Poonch Range.

He said Mr PR Manhas, IPS, DIG Rajouri has been transferred and posted as DIG Home Guards and Civil Defence, Mr Munir Ahmad Khan, IPS, DIG Anantnag has been transferred and posted as DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR), Srinagar and Mr Abdul Gani Mir, IPS, DIG Armed Police, Kashmir has been transferred and posted as DIG, North Kashmir Range, Baramulla.
