Srinagar, Sep 8 (UNI) Hailing the election of Asif Ali Zardari as President of Pakistan, chairman of the moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq said a delegation of the amalgam will soon meet Pakistani ambassador in India to apprise him of the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters at his Nigeen resident where he was under house arrest since September 1st, Mirwaiz said he has sent a message to Mr Zardari congratulating him for his election as Pakistani President.
He said during his last visit to Pakistan, he had a detailed meeting with Mr Zardari, who assured full support to Kashmiri people in their struggle.
Now the people of Kashmir expect Mr Zardari to play big in taking up the matter with India for early resolution of the Kashmir issue.
He said a Hurriyat delegation will soon visit Delhi where it will meet Pakistani ambassador to apprise him about the prevailing situation in the Kashmir valley.
About the Kashmir issue, the Hurriyat chairman said tripartite talks and implementation of the United Nations resolution are the only options to resolve it once for all.
He said if India was sincere to resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully, it has to start tripartite talks or implement the UN resolutions.
He said the march to Muzaffarabad was not to bring any arms from the other side of the Line of Control (LOC) but to take Kashmiri fruit there because of economic blockade and attack on Kashmiri drivers in Jammu.
