Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) Defending Champion Pankaj Advani, Indian Billiards Legend Geet Sethi, Former Asian Champion Devender Joshi and Singapore cueist Peter Ghilchrist have stormed into the quarterfinals of the ONGC IBSF World Billiards (Timed Format) Championship at KSBA Hall here.

Twice Thailand National Champion Thawat Sujaritthurakarn, Indian ace cueists Rupesh Shah, Sorav Kothari and Dhruv Sitwala also made it to last eight stage by winning their respective matches in the pre-quarterfinals.

Eight time World Billiards Champion Geet Sethi trounced Suriya Suwannasingh of Thailand 1892-727 with highest break being 272.

Bangalore lad Pankaj showed door to his campatriot Shyam Jagtinni 2036-869, England-born Singapore cueist settled international cueist Peter Ghilchrist, who had highest break of 354/34, did not find much firing from Vietnam cueist Thanh Long Nguyen (1660-767), while another foreigner in the fray from Thailand Thawat Sujaritthurakarn had a narrow victory over local lad B Bhaskar, who had highest break of 235/29, (958-832).
