CPI urges President to book against Union Minister
Puducherry, Sep 8: Communist Party of India (CPI) National Council Member R Viswanathan, MLA, on Monday, Sep 8 urged President Prathibha Patil to order registration of cases against Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy on charges of instigating violence.
In a letter to the President,a copy of which was released to the press here, Mr Viswanathan claimed on Sep 4, while addressing party cadre at the PCC Office, Mr Narayansamy appealed to them to treat the Opposition as 'enemy parties' and ensure no such party existed in Puducherry.
This appeal would encourage the Congress cadre to do anything against the Opposition parties leading to violence,he added.
This appeal of Mr Narayansami who had pledged to discharge his duty as per the Constitution of India without any breach to the unity and integrity of the country and cause any apprehension to the public, could not be accepted.
He urged the President to order for registration of cases under Sec 107,108,109,115,124(a) and 153(a) of IPC against Mr Narayansamy.
He also sent the copes of the letter to the Union Home Secretary and the DGP here.
