Big Brother's future in doubt as ratings dive
London, Sept 8 : Even after desperate and controversial attempts, reality TV show 'Big Brother' has failed to attract viewers.
The Friday night's finale got the lowest viewing figures in the show's history, with only 5.3million viewership, down from 10million.
Media experts are now urging 'Channel 4' bosses to suspend or scrap the show.
Rachael Rice, 24, trounced blind contestant Mikey Hughes to win this year's series
"We've done everything we can to try to lift the figures this year, and it hasn't worked. Then we had the winner we were all dreading," the Mirror quoted a show insider as saying.
"Rachel's a nice enough girl, but the public just aren't bothered any more," the insider added.
Last year, the ratings of the show fell to 5.4m in the wake of that year's Celebrity Big Brother race row.
However, a Channel 4 spokesman said: "We look forward to celebrating 10 years of Big Brother next year."
