India losing social, cultural standards: Swami Parmatmanandji
Rajkot, Sep 7 (UNI) At a time when India is emerging as a major economic power, attempting to harness the forces of globalisation to strengthen international standing, the country is slowly losing its level of social and cultural standards, Swami Parmatmanandji, General Secretary of Hindu Dharma Sabha said here today.
Briefing mediapersons here today, Swami Parmatmanandji said, ''It is essential for modern India to keep alive ancient tradition, knowledge and wisdom through the upheavals of time and history.'' A seminar on ''Challenges of Present Era'' has also been organised as a part of the Prempuriji Maharaj Swarna Nirvan Mahotsav at Matrushri Veerbai Mahila college, to be participated by Gujarat Health Minister Dr Jayanarayan Vyas, State Additional Chief Secretary Dr H K Nanda and Dr Subrahmanyam Swami.
Earlier, in the press conference, Deena Mehta, coordinator of Swami Shri Prempuriji Ashram Trust, Mumbai gave details about the Ashram's activities and said the Ashram organises over 4,000 socio-cultural and spiritual events annually, through 33 regular programmes.
