Lucknow, Sep 7 (UNI) Prisoners of the Lucknow district jail today participated in a gala Iftar Party organised by the Islamic Center of India.
It was for the first time that an Iftar party inside the jail permises tok place on such a large scale, in which almost all the jail birds participated.
However, 28 prisoners, who had been lodged in the high security cell for their involvement in the terrorist acts, were not allowed to participate in the party.
Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali led the 'Namaz' in the Iftar Party.
Lucknow District Magistrate Chandrabhanu was also present on the occasion.
Lucknow Jail Superintendent R K Kesarwani said here that it was a joint effort by the Muslim clerics and the jail authorities for better atmosphere for the jail inmates.
