Arms, ammunition seized after encounter on Indo-Pak border
Ferozpur, Sep 7 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including assault rifles, after an exchange of fire with intruders from Pakistan near Border Outpost (BOP) Kalash in Ferozpur sector in the wee hours today.
Giving details, BSF DIG M L Wassan said the BSF jawans on night duty on spotting two intruders crossing the zero line. The intruders also fired two rounds on the BSF jawans before sneek back to Pakistan.
Later, on search of the area, two bags containing three AK-47 rifles along with eight magazines and 731 rounds of ammunition, eight .38 bore pistols along with 16 magazines and 362 rounds of ammunition and seven timer devices which are used while assembling bombs were recovered.
The DIG said the matter had been brought to the notice of the Pakistan Rangers.
