Traffic disrupted near Sogras after tanker overturns
Nashik, Sep 6 (UNI) Traffic on the Mumbai-Agra Highway was disrupted due to overturning of a LPG tanker near Sogras Phata in Chandwad taluka of the district today.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 0200 hrs today after the driver of the LPG tanker owned by Hindustan Petroleum Limited, lost control over it. The tanker was on its way to Sinnar from Surat.
Due to the accident, there was gas leakage from the tanker. Though the leakage was not to a large extent, traffic on the highway was stopped for some time as a precautionary measure and started slowly at around 0500 hrs. It was diversified through Manmad for some time and one way traffic had started from the stretch, till the last reports came in.
Meanwhile, experts from the company will reach the accident spot and take appropriate measures to stop the gas leakage. Then only the tanker can be removed from the road clearing way for regular traffic. The driver of the tanker received minor injuries in the accident.
