SFA Mumbai rout Haryana, MP draw with TN

Chandigarh, Sep 6 (UNI) Steadfast Football Academy of Mumbai thrashed Haryana Football Association by 5-0 and Madhya Pradesh Football Association drew with Tamil Nadu Football Association 1-1 in two inconsequential group A outings played today in the sixth Administrator's Challenge Cup Football Tournament for Under-17.

Powerful residential Chandigarh Football Academy, a venture of the Chandigarh Administration have already qualified for the semi-final with an all-win record. They have won all their four matches they have played so far and tomorrow they will complete their formalities when they meet Madhya Pradesh Football Association in their last league match.

Already out of the race for title, Steadfast Football Academy outplayed Haryana Football Association in an one-sided encounter.

Baldev Singh hogged the limelight by scoring three goals, no hat-trick. He struck in the 17th, 32nd and 46th minutes. Azim Khan (19th) and Parmod Pandey (39th) contributed one goal each.

Deepak of Haryana was given a red card after two cautions for rough play. Two more Haryana players were penalised. Ashish was booked for unsportsmanship behaviour while Nitin was shown yellow card for rough play.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Football Association and Madhya Pradesh Football Association played a one-all draw and split points. With hosts Chandigarh Football Academy sitting comfortable with four victories. The match between TN and MP was of an academic interest.

Chandigarh Football Academy have beaten Steadfast Football Academy of Mumbai by 9-0, beat Haryana Football Association by 7-0, bt Tamil Nadu FA by 6-0 and Rohit Football Academy of Orissa by 6-1 to maintain their slate clean.

Madhya Pradesh FA gained the lead in the 17th minute through Nitin Rajak and Edwin Sydney got the equaliser for Tamil Nadu in the 85th minute.

Dalip Kumar of Tamil Nadu was cautioned for rough play while Robin Singh of Madhya Pradesh got yellow card for deliberately handling the ball.
