Red sandal worth Rs 3 lakh seized in Tirupati

Tirupati, Sep 6: Tirupati flying squad of forest department seized red sandal worth Rs 3 lakh and a mini lorry with Tamil Nadu registeration no, here on Friday, Sep 5.

On a tip-off, the forest officials rushed to the spot on Naidupet and Chennai highway and seized the red sandal being illegally transported.

Mr Krishaiah, forest range officer, told that 45 red sandal logs were seized besides a mini lorry which was carrying the load.
